No Workout buddy, but maybe some fitness buddies?

Hello from the Twin Cities, MN!

Each New Years, we set forth in making resolutions, and often times people resolve to lose weight. And out of those who do, a few continue on in the quest to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Thats my resolution...to be happy and healthy. At the beginning of 2012, I went back to college for my second degree and started to think more positively about life in general to feed my desire to be happy. Im on MFP to feed my desire to be healthy. (Maybe feed isnt the best word :) )

My daily calorie intake goal is at 1200, and often times Im under. Before starting this, I thought that if you were under calories that that was a good thing. To my dismay, I was told it is not. Unfortunately, part of me still doesnt like the idea of being anything over my daily allowance. But I may just have to get over that :)

In between classes and coursework, I plan to be going to the gym 3-4 nights a week at least, for about an hour a night. I do not have a workout buddy, which in the past has sometimes allowed excuses to keep me from going to the gym. But through my friends on FB and hopefully on here, I hope to have a stable support group to keep me determined and strong in my quest to lose this unwanted weight.

My personal motto: "A pessimist will see the difficulty in every opportunity. A optimist will see the opportunity in every difficulty."

  • Congrats and welcome! I hear you about the workout resolutions, which is why I don't make them =-). You can add me if you'd like!
  • I figure I pay for the gym membership so I should go...Its a lot better to lose weight while losing money than to gain weight while losing money :)
