Sushi?

So I just found out the plan is to go out for sushi tomorrow night for dinner...which is all well and good, but I want to keep it low-calorie because I am planning a cheat meal on Saturday. We go out for sushi a lot, and my standard meal since I started counting calories last fall has been miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, a cucumber roll, and some sashimi. I like it...but I am kind of getting bored with having the same thing every couple of weeks. Does anyone have other sushi rolls or dishes that are good for staying in a calorie limit that I should try while we are out?

I personally love California rolls and Philly rolls...the Philly rolls are usually in the 300s b/c of the cream cheese but still not too bad...love me some sushi! enjoy:)

Keep protein intake high, tell them to remove the rice on some of pieces.

    Eat sashimi and not rolls.

Sunumonu (cucumber salad), edamame and miso are good starters.

I absolutely love california rolls...I also like shrimp rolls but those are definitely higher calorie...

Maybe you could save up a few extra calories to get whatever you want or exercise a little more and save those calories...that's what I would do...

Ask for brown rice and reduced sodium soy sauce. Avoid the rolls with tempura or mayo. Enjoy!

My personal faves are Philadelphia rolls and spicy tuna rolls.

if you're worried about calories, then avoid California rolls, dynamite rolls, and any tempura roll (yam roll is one of them, deceiving!). Also avoid the spicy sauce they dump on top. Sashimi is definitely your best bet with a side of rice so you can control it. The special rolls will be way more too since they are usually full of cream cheese and tempura and they are massive, so just stick with regular rolls.
