I weigh my meats but I use measuring cups and spoons for everything else and I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks! This must be why!

I have always thought measuring with cups was off because the amount of servings I would get was always less then what was on the package. Great video-makes a lot of sense!0

Interesting. I recently bought a scale and I love using it, but I definitely don't use it for everything. Hasn't affected my weight loss at all, but I'll continue using my scale!0

WHOA!!! I really need to get a scale!!! Thanks swish. I love you ♥0

That's very interesting! I had no idea! Guess I need to get me a scale too! Thanks for the link! I will pass it around!0

Yikes!!!! I am guilty of that for sure! Guess I should probably invest in something better than my $5 walmart scale too huh?0

Wow. That's a really big difference, and since I eat peanut butter every day, it adds up. I think I'll leave some wiggle room in either my diet or measuring cups from now on. A scale would be nice, but not in the budget atm. Thank you for the useful info.0

Thanks for the video!
I actually just bought a scale tonight ($20 at Kroger) and I LOVVVEEEE it. Used it to measure out my cereal and it really makes it easier to get an accurate count.
I tend to binge horribly on peanut butter. It's such a weakness that I now make 1/2 sandwiches with 1 slice of bread and only 1 tbsp of pb in case I'll have the insatiable craving for another "sandwich". Little things like that can help you feel like you're eating more than you actually are. Eating 2 1/2 sandwiches like that gives me the same satisfaction that eating 2 full sandwiches used to with half the calories!0 -
What is that scale they're using in the video? I want one!0

I weigh my fruit, some veggies, eyeball the leafy greens, and use measuring spoons for liquid stuff. I keep it level, and sometimes I eyeball it. The fruit kills me every time. My average orange is 220-250 grams....0

That was an amazing and eye opening watch. Thanks for sharing that with us. I too used measuring cups and would just weight things like meat and fruit. Not anymore. It will take a little more time but now I am weighing as much as possible. Thanks again.0

I'm using my $1 store scale. Works for me. :laugh:0 -
I thought it was gonna be one of those stupid dramatic video that lures you in for 15 minutes with fear then gives you a solution, but it's actually very true.
I've been using a food scale for quite a while and yes, it does help A LOT0 -

My motivation for using the scale is to pour everything directly onto my plate instead of making more dirty dishes from measuring cups and spoons. I'm lazy that way.0

very interesting.0

Great post. I usually weigh everything. Now I will always do it!0

thanks for posting this, i will now be watching a lot closer!0

What kind of scale do you think she was using? I have a crappy plastic one that hardly holds any food.0

Great video. I actually do use the grams weight measuring on my electronic scale often, but I don't think to use it for peanut butter! I typically use it for things that I don't feel can be measured properly in a measuring cup (pasta, rice, popcorn...).
Thanks for sharing!:noway:0 -
I have been using a scale for about 8 months. I have a really nice Taylor digital scale. It has a removable glass plate for washing. I paid $20.00 for it.
I was freaked when what I thought was a serving of peanut butter really was.
I was told by my docs and dietician to quit using the scale that I should be able to eye ball my servings since I have been doing this for some time now. They said I have become obsessive about weighing my foods, and working out etc.
When it comes to battling obesity and being successful can one really be to obsessive? If a previous life style of over eating, indulging and lack of physical activity caused the problem, why would you fault someone for making the effort to correct and change there life style to ensure long term success.0 -

This video is so true !!
I have used a food scale for many years........I started using one when I had joined Weight Watchers ages ago. It will definately open your eyes, well it surely did mine to portion control especially when measuring food with measuring cups and spoons or by eyeball and you won't believe how much more food you really may be eating by not weighing it. I weigh almost everything I have to eat now.....
**** I have the same scale as in the video only mine was made by Kitrics and not Chefmate ****
The Kitrics Digital Nutrition Scale (I bought mine on QVC a few years ago but have seen it on amazon and some mail order catalogs too) and it has food codes programmed into it and you can add more food codes for your own favorite foods and the scale gives you the nutritional info for the items you are weighing. It has a tare button and you can change between grams and ounces for weighing items.
Here's the scale I have - just looked it up on amazon....

thanks for all the scale advice, I will be looking in to a better one. I just wanted to share that the scale FINALLY budged!! Down .8 lbs. That's 10.2 lbs for me now...still a ways to go but thankfully it MOVED!0
