Thank goodness for NSVs

I am guilty of being a person who weighs themselves every day. I am fully aware of fluctuations and I actulaly don't get too down about that. Weighing myself every day has allowed me to figure out things about how my body works - how much water gain I can expect with TOM, what kind of retention I have after strength training days, or when I haven't been drinking enough water. It has actually been educational.

However, just like anyone, I get frustrated when I don't see that scale move. So, I look for the NSVs where I can get them. Today I decided to measure, since my weight loss has slowed, and I actually saw some success this last month even though I hadn't seen much move on the scale! I had lost an inch on my waist and on my hips in the last month! That put a smile on my face.

So, my totals so far (since September 2011)

Waist - lost 8.5"
Hips - lost 5"
Chest - lost 8"
Legs - lost 5 inches" on each thigh

Thanks to all my MFP friends for their support! It has made a difference.

That is awesome!!! Even when the scale does not move we are making progress even though it doesn't seem like it. I to am a scale-a-holic and weigh all the time and try not to over obsess over it. Best of luck!!!

Thanks for posting!!! I'm a daily weigher too and my scale actually went up five pounds! I have been staying under in calories and exercising. Probably over in sodium though.

I think I will do my measurements Sunday and hopefully I will see changes like you are seeing. :)

I know my clothes are still really lose so I am hoping that it is just muscle.

I too have been stuck at the same weight for 2 months now and weight myself everyday. Good idea on the measuring maybe I have shrunk up too without the scale telling me so! Great post thanks!
