Can I put sweet potato in microwave like a white one to make a jacket potato?

Would it take longer than a white potato to cook?

    Yes you can, baked sweet potato works really well like this!

    I find it takes less time than a white potato - 5-8 minutes.

    I cook mine in the microwave all the time. Quick & easy.

    do i just stick fork in it a few times like have to do with white one so it doesn't explode?

    I only discovered sweet potatoes when I started trying to lose weight and dropped 'white carbs', so far I've only cut them into 'chips' and cooked them in the oven with a little oil and herbs... I miss jacket spuds sometimes though!

    MAKE SURE YOU SCRUB THE SKIN REALLY WELL!!!!! The skin holds all the nutrients!!!! :)
