Hysterectomy?

I have to have a complete hysterectomy on March 6. I will continue my calorie counting of course, but will be unable to do anything other than light exercise for 4-6 weeks after. Anyone have this surgery during weight loss or have it anytime and want to offer moral support?

Doc did a D&C and found some "bad-ish" stuff in there and though I have a pretty positive attitude and lots of faith that will get me through, I would love to hear from others who have had this surgery that would like to offer some support!

Thanks :c)

Hey Bobbie -- sent you a message on here! :)
  • I had a hysterectomy in 1988...i was 23, i had a 17 week old baby, a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old and i was pregnant again and at the same time told i had ovarian cancer...so it was either have a termination and treatment, go through the pregnancy and see how i did or have the hysterectomy.

It was a traumatic time but i had to think of the children i already had so no contest with the decision really.

Luckily everything went well, the 'cancer' wasnt cancer, but i was pretty ill....the hysterectomy itself was a breeze, i was up and about in no time with no problems atall.

I had a complete hysterectomy in 2005. Lost 20 pounds in the seven weeks following surgery. Walking on the treadmill was a good activity to regain strength and promote healing. Found eating healthy during that time helped me feel better faster (imagine that). It was all good.
