does anyone know how many cals are burned doing zumba??????

    I've seen lots of people quoting this http://www.zumbacalories.com/ but I've looked and reckon the burned calories are very generous! I'd underestimate, personally.

    I use zumbacalories.com. Those who are in my Zumba class who have an HRM burn the same, if not more. Actually, my instructor burns approx 1300 calories for the hour and she is VERY fit! It says I burn around 830... which I do think underestimates the calories burned in my class.

    I agree with Sublimely. And the calorie numbers could be generous. The problem is that there is such a huge disparity in intensity depending on the Zumba instructor.

    I use my heart rate monitor... it's the only way to accurately get a sense during zumba since everyone is so different.

    I went for the first time today and burned around 350 cals according to my hrm.
