Would you log his?

I don't normally log exercise calories for cleaning house, BUT......I've been so busy I haven't had time to do my daily cleaning. When I got home, I cleaned up. Picked up kids toys, vacuumed, swept, mopped, did dishes, wiped down counter tops, cleaned out refrigerator, cleaned bathroom....I literally was moving non stop for about 2 1/2 hours. Do you think I should log it?

I would. When my house cleaning involves numerous trips up and down the stairs in our house ... you better believe I log it!

I would too. I log mine everyday, not many calories but it still adds all up

I decided to add it but only logged 1.5 hours instead of the full 2.5 hours. I feel wired about logging house cleaning as an exercise. Lol

I have a friend on here that logs hers every day. Hey, if you work up a sweat, I say go ahead and count it.

I never log things like this. It's just part of daily life.

I did it once in the past twenty days; it was the day I didn't exercise at all and threw a dinner party:) So that made me feel better.

I wouldn't, I consider that a regular part of the day where exercise is something I set time aside to do.

I never log it either. You need to get your heart rate in the fat burning zone and keep it steadily there for the max fat burning. Lots of stops and slows in house cleaning.

I don't normally. And I don't always clean everyday. But I didn't go to the gym today so that I could actually clean. I feel you're burning calories if you're moving. And I was moving. A LOT. Lol. If I hadn't swept, mopped and vacuumed I probably wouldn't have logged it. I have a pretty big house so there's a lot if tile and carpet.

Well, if it makes you feel better then thats great! Do you own a HRM? You would be able to actually see if you are burning the cals you are.

I Only log cleaning if I work up a sweat and tire my muscles - floor stripping, scrubbing, lugging things around...
I never log walking my dog either, or walking to the grocery store - that's just stuff I do every day and I feel it's included in my fairly active lifestyle...

I don't own a HRM. I have been looking into it though. I'm really not sure of the calories MFP gives for exercises. They seem high but IDK. Looking into a body media. My turbo kick instructor has one and loves it.

I usually log it. Especially if its laundry day where Im back and forth from the laundry room and lifting and up and down and up and down. I'm an infrequent cleaner ;) so when it happens its a major day.

Consider it getting ahead. I wouldn't bother logging it. Chances are you've underestimated or had a slip up along the way. Is that fair to say?

Good question. I clean motels for work, and can be on the go for up to 5 hours some days. I never know whether to log it or not???

That's one reason I love my FitBit. I don't have to figure out how many more calories I might be consuming by doing extra housework or grocery shopping, the FitBit logs it automatically.

I would not log it, but if I went over my goal I would not worry about that either.

Absolutely I lost a lot of weight when I went on a 2 week cleaning bender. As long as you keep purposely moving especially up and downstairs count it.
