okay so my RHR is usually in the low-mid 70's but around TOTM is generally 90-110's. Is this normal for anyone else? Is this good? Bad?

i think this is actually quite common. i think most studies show its hormonal.

if you have accompanied pvcs (feels like skipped beats), this is also common. also i think ingesting too much caffiene especially around that TOM can cause this to happen too.

Gosh I never knew that, interesting!

My TOM is due (any hour now) so I must check this.
  • Yeah sounds normal.. A doctor told me that your metabolism also increases during TOTM...

Is this why I get so darn hungry at that time???

A few days before and during the time you are menstruating, you do burn more calories due to the additional cellular activity taking place internally. Some female metabolisms may increase up to 15% during this time due to hormonal changes and loss of blood. The increase in metabolism can lead to an increase in appetite in order to compensate for the greater calorie burn (in the same manner that as exercise can lead to an increase in hunger), which is why some women tend to eat more or crave different foods during this time of the month. Cravings can also be caused by the hormonal changes that affect taste or thought processes. Additionally, certain foods can help sooth difficult times, thus leading to different or unusual food choices.

Found this just now, decided to search it after I posted my question. Interesting

I also get a low-grade fever, which raises my RHR.
