FRUSTRATED!!!

I'm very frustrated and have to vent. Alright, so I have been very, very bad last couple of days, I was so upset to see that I gained another 1 lb. I was 5 lbs down but now only 3. So, as a result I have not exactly eaten all the right things although I haven't completely eaten all the wrong things because I really wanted to have the right things.
I have done a lot of reflecting from when I was on weight watchers and managed to lose 35 lbs. This is the conclusion I came to, I was allowed 18 pts a day, plus my weekly 35 to use as I pleased. I rarely used all of my extra weekly 35 pts. I didn't ever log in activity or eat the activity pts. Usually on the weekends I would get terribly drunk, eat all the wrong things get back on track on Sunday and be good again until Friday night. My only exercise was walking to Subway 2 or 3 times a week and working/running around a warehouse 1-20 hrs a week. I lost on an average of 1 lb per week. Now, I'm so frustrated that I exercise as much as I do and and nothing.
I'm not giving up, don't get me wrong there but I'm so frustrated, if it was only 0.5 lbs at a time, that would be one thing but it's all gain, gain, gain. In 2 mos, I have lost 3 lbs, I was hoping to have most of my weight gone by my anniversary but the way this is going I will be lucky to have lost 5 lbs by then.
Once again, like I said, I'm not giving up. I am so very frustrated though and just needed to vent.

With every passing day, you get older, too. Your metabolism slows. Don't know what to tell you except keep doing what you're doing. The alternative is worse. I get frustrated, too, but I keep plugging away. I am getting healthier! More stamina, more endurance, better breathing, better taste, etc. There's a lot more too it than watching the needle on a scale.0

We have all been there. Lifestyle changes are hard and you don't always see the results immediately. Sure I get frustrated when the scale doesn't budge and I try very hard to not dwell on it. The more you beat yourself up the more frustrated you are going to get. Instead of focusing on the scale, focus on each day as it comes and make healthy choices with portion control. This is not an easy journey and everyone here has their own stories to tell. For me, I just have to keep remembering to put one foot in front of the other and keep on going. When I have a bad day, and sometimes a bad week. I pick myself up (sometimes with the help of my MFP family), dust myself off, acknowledge the bad day, event or week, make peace with it and move on.
I wish the best on your journey. Namaste0 -

But isn't it also about your health and not just your weight? It sounds like you are living a healthier lifestyle now. Muscle weighs more than fat (I'm sure you know that, but thought I could remind you). I know you just wanted to vent, but I am going to give advice anyway, because I give it to myself on days when I am also frustrated because nothing is changing fast enough in terms of weight or clothing size etc.
I run & lift weights, eat well, don't touch sodas & drink moderately because inside things are changing. My body is healthy. It makes my mind healthy. I am stronger and more resilient than I once was. As for getting older... blah: research shows that starting to lead a healthier lifestyle even at 70 makes a difference. Remember math is a way to describe the real world, it doesn't dictate it.0
