I just started working out daily about 5 days ago. I outdid myself and worked out pretty intensely for an hour the first day, 45 minutes the 2nd and 30 minutes the third. The reason I decreased my work out times those days was because after the first day, I was so sore I could hardly get out of bed in the morning. Yesterday, I remembered something someone told me when I was in the military; eat a banana and peanut butter after a good work out because the potassium in the banana helps prevent sore muscles. I didn't have any bananas, but I just happened to have potassium supplements left over from when I was pregnant. I took one after my workout yesterday. My sore muscles were almost totally gone within a few hours and I haven't been sore since.
