Protein for a salad?

What is something that I can add to my salad that has protein but is low in sodium?

If you like cheese, but want to avoid the sodium, go for Swiss. An ounce of natural swiss has between 50-60mg of sodium, which is really quite low!0 -

I really like to add Dark Red Kidney Beans and some freshly sliced beets to my salads. YUM! I rinse off the kidney beans before using them which helps lower some of the sodium. Toss in some cilantro and seasonings and it's a delicious salad with good protein and vitamins!0

I add a hard-boiled egg or a couple scoops of lentils. Lentils are my new favorite source lol. Or boneless skinless organic chicken breast.0

I buy low-sodium albacore and use organic salsa for a dressing! It. is. fabulous!!0

I second the recommendation for beans on a salad- personally, I love making black beans for dinner and then throwing a half a cup or so on a bed of spinach.... it definitely redefines a salad. I also use sunflower seeds (non-salted)0

Low sodium tuna not so bad, neither is a tbsp of cheese. I have my sodium at 1500 per day. If I have too much in one meal, I balance it out for the rest of the day.0 -

I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I use Fage 0% fat Greek yogurt mixed with my homemade salsa for salad dressing 8 oz. of Fage has 23g of protein.

Tuna (not nearly as much sodium as the turkey/ham julienne of a "Chef Salad")

Low sodium, well rinsed legumes (not nearly the protien of meat or eggs though)
Shrimp or Crab
Almonds or Peanuts
Tofu
Eggs
Cottage Cheese

i use spinach, grilled chicken, hard-bolied eggs, soy beans, a little bleu cheese, and thats pretty much those whole salad lol...cottage cheese is a good one too(but i usualy dont buy itcause it goes bad too fast for me, i love to use kidney beans and garbonzo beans, for dressing i just use balsamic vinegar.0
