Need Ideas for Eating Back My Workout Calories

I have been working out a lot lately, and I generally need about 2000ish calories to reach my daily goal. Problem is, to get to that number, I've been relying too heavily on sweets. I am a candy junkie and I find it so easy to just buy a Cadbury egg or some other treat on my way home simply to reach my needed calorie level. Now I'm all for an occasional treat, but I don't want this to be a habit. I'm looking for some high-cal, healthful, and easy-to-prepare foods to take the place of this chocolate overload! My ideas so far: nuts, boiled egg, crackers with guacamole or hummus, kefir, cheese, avocado. Thanks for your help!

    ^ I'm surprised he didn't suggest Ben & Jerry's...

But really, if you know you are going to work out, start eating higher throughout the day so you aren't pushing yourself at the end of the day.

She's right. Plan to eat more in the morning and you'll have an easier time reaching your goal.

I also like to recommend whole milk if you're not lactose intolerant. It's my go-to for those days when I'm struggling to get my calories. I can chug a few glasses of whole milk and be good (and it has a decent macro balance).

Thank you!! Yes, I am kind of a calorie hoarder. Lol. I always want to hang on to them "just in case" but honestly I always have far too many left by the end of the day. I'll definitely use these ideas - especially the milk one. I always pass a coffee shop on my lunch-hour walk. Hello, whole milk latte!

Make a delicious protein shake. Mine are 400 calories each, and it's all good stuff.
