Ok so i have been longing in over 30 days, rarely exceeding 1200 a day. last week i raised the calorie limit to 1350. But nearly everyday i am going over on the carbs. I have only lost 8 lbs. I think the carbs are the problem. Any food ideas?

I don't under the question. Carbs are not the problem. It's your calories.

    Protein 1g =4 kcal
    Carb 1g = 4 kcal
    Fat 1g = 9 kcal.

are you getting enough of the other nutrients? i've found the trick for me is to make sure i eat enough protein, sometimes even more than i need. It keeps me fuller a lot longer, and then i dont crave/eat as many carbs. I also get most of my carbs from fruits/vegetables, and i've really cut back on potatos and grains (mostly because i find them higher in calories and not very filling/sustaining). Although I've cut out a lot of fatty foods, i try to still have some (like the fats in nuts, or peanut butter) By doing that, i never go over on carbs, and i've seen some really good changes in my body the last couple weeks. Hope that helps!!

You've lost roughly 2lbs per week, which is a lot per week. What were you expecting to lose per week?

I wouldn't worry about going "over" in carbs assuming you are getting in adequate amounts of protein and fats each day, which i would consider 1g of pro per lb of lbm and .35g of fat per lb of bodyweight. If you are getting less of either pro or fats, i'd drop the carbs to meet your pro or fat goals

I have to agree that 2 lbs per week is a good rate (maybe a bit faster than you might want even). If you lose weight by eating less than a 7 year old girl requires (1200 calories), odds are your diet is cutting into your muscle weight as much as anything and will be incredibly difficult to maintain on once you hit your goal.

Thanks for all the replies. I think since i have only maintained the last week, with out losing any extra, i thought maybe i had a problem. But i see your points! Thanks so much, However i do feel much better bringing the calories up to 1350 instead of 1200. Thank you everyone!
