losing the last 5

Hi. For the most part I am happy with my weight (my body is what bothers me), but I could still stand to lose another 5 lbs. Any tips for losing the last 5? I've always heard it's the hardest to lose.
Also I am new to weights and strength and I am unsure if I am very effective. Today I didn't even break a sweat! Also how long should a strength/weight training last? Do I need cardio with it?
Anyways . . . THANKS!

i suggest trying something different. i've been doing zumba at the gym and my body responded well! also make sure you're drinking lots of water (still) and watching the content of your calories not just total calories.0

It's great you're doing strength training. you sound unsure about what exactly to do there, so why not follow a specific program to take out the guesswork. Like new rules of lifting for women or rippetoe's starting strength or something from nerdfitness.com. It may not lead to dropping that last 5 pounds, but if you lift right, i'm guessing you'll like your body more.

the last 5 *IS* hard. i'd suggest really looking at your ideal weight vs where you are now, considering all factors like bmi, activity level, genetics, and lifestyle. for me to maintain at my previous goal weight, i would have had a lowered daily calorie intake that i didn't feel good about. i'd rather have the extra 3-5 lbs and be able to eat in a way that i want, than have to maintain and be hungry. so really ask yourself if the last 5 are necessary...
and if they are, go low-sodium, drink a lot of h20, do intervals for cardio 2x a week and regular cardio the other days, lift weights, eat lean and clean and don't eat back all of your exercise calories.
