    Having suffered through a layoff and unemployment for about a year, I know how hard it gets to put yourself out there. You should be very proud of all your hard work to get you were you are today!

    This calls for some new work clothes!!!!

    It certainly does LOL, especially as all my 'old' work clothes went into the recycling bag because they are two sizes too big now! I've just been out and had a look for some office clothes, but to be honest as its between seasons here there's not too much about. I did work at these offices before so I know roughly what I can get away with wearing, but still need new stuff because of my diminishing size.

    Thank you all so much for your kind words - the past two years have been extremely hard, both mentally and financially - my poor hubby has worked as much overtime as he was able to do, and I love him for it. Perhaps now I can repay some of that devotion.

    It's a hard journey we travel, but so worthwhile!

    I've not had much luck in getting a job since I was laid off 2 years ago, and my weight suffered because I was so down.

    The typical vicious circle - no work, boredom, low self-esteem, comfort eating, weight gain......

    I've had a couple of interviews but never felt comfortable because I knew my appearance was so off-putting, and I could see peoples' expressions change as I walked into a room - needless to say, those interviews weren't successful.

    I had an interview this morning, the first since I've lost almost 7 stones.

    I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!

    Perhaps I have a new found confidence, perhaps my appearance isn't so off-putting to prospective employers, I don't know, but.....

    I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!

    one word: CONFIDENCE!
