Are egg whites better than the actual entire egg, yolk and all?
I was always confused about egg whites, I'm not sure why, but can someone explain it to me. Also, some recipes using egg whites? Please and Thank you!

I've heard they are better than the whole egg but if you think about it the yolk is where all the protein is..0

choosing straight up egg whites does lower the omelet's calories, fat, and cholesterol content, but it also makes the meal void of vitamins B2, B12, D, and iron. If you're concerned about getting enough of those nutrients, a good option would be to eat an omelet made of one whole egg and two egg whites. It's still low in calories, fat, and cholesterol, but you'll get some vitamins from the egg yolk.

Actually, the whites have the majority of the protein (looking at different counts, around 4g in the white and 2g in the yolk for a large egg). Like the others said, the yolk will have more fat, calories, nutrients, and taste, though.0

A lot of people don't like the fact that whole eggs are high in cholesterol, so they'll stick to the whites.
I personally prefer the taste of whites better, and make omelets/scramble them with jalapenos, cheese, etc.0 -
I use the pasteurized All Whites to make protein smoothies with frozen fruit like peaches and berries. They are pretty tasty and provide enough protein for what I need right now. The whole egg is better when making an omelet or using it hard boiled in a salad. The only suggestion I would make is that you buy organic cage free, so you know that they are not full of antibiotics and who knows what else.
The fact is, your body NEEDS cholesterol so that your liver can function properly. A good egg (ha ha) is an egg-cellent choice for this.
So is organice beef and chicken. It's the processing of these foods that goes on now a days that takes away the benefits of eating the real foods. I know organic is a little more expensive, but if you're taking time to try and eat correctly and healthy, why would you want to put something in your body that has preservatives and chemicals and who knows what in it.
All things in moderation - someone suggested making an omelet with a whole egg and two egg whites. Great choice! I've done that and the yolk makes the flavor so much better and doesn't leave me feeling like I didn't really get a real omelette!0 -
