it was suggested to me to start drinking protein shakes as I am not eating enough calories daily. I thought only people trying to bulk up drank them. Opinions?

bump. I'm confused on this topic too. I wanted to start drinking shakes because I never consume much protein. But i was told drinking those I'll get "fat as f***". They fit within my calorie intake so I don't see the problem.

A protein shake a day is not going to make you gain weight so long as you stay within your calorie goal.
  • Nah you'll be fine, depending on the flavor you get if you get powder you can add all kinds of stuff I'm currently taking Optimum nutrition pro complex creamy vanilla with reduced fat milk and a little peanut butter, an eas french vanilla shakes( buy them in 4 packs at walmart for like 11 bucks

Just make sure you check the nutritional information. Not all protein shakes are equal in calories and some are bulkers which means they will be much higher in calories. If you do choose to add one to your daily meal program, after excercise is a good time to have it.
