Putting The Scale Away For A Month?

I'm considering putting away my scale and measuring tape for the next 30 days and forgetting about numbers. Just focusing on good healthy choices and behavior. Anyone else done this? What kind of results did you end up finishing with?

Also as someone suggested in another thread...I think I will remove my cheat day from each week for the next 30 days as well.0

I'm in. Let's do it.0 -
I don't know if I can do this. I'd love to but I'll have a think about it! At the moment I am still using it as a spur to keep going.0

I'll do this with you guys! I hate the scale lately since it's not showing me what I want to see. Plus I figure I can concentrate more on my eating habits.0

I used to weigh myself every day, but now I only do it once every two weeks or so. Personally, it keeps me more motivated because psychologically I see more weight loss at once.0

I actually didnt own one for a looooong time (about 6yrs) lol. Hmmm i think ill do it to0

It's been two weeks for me! I'm not weighing in until spring break (17 days!) I think it's a great idea to take the fixation off of something that's honestly just a number. It is not indicative of health!0

Great idea. My loss is very slow, so I only weigh once a month.0

I'm an obsessed scale stepper... this sounds like a good idea! I'll do it with you!0

I'm mad at my scale, so I'm in.0

Ok...I'm obsessed with the number on that stupid scale. I am with you on this. I have been contemplating it for a while but haven't had enough guts to actually do it. Knowing that others are dealing with the same thing will definitely help me stay off the scale for a month!0

I've done this twice now once when I started MFP for a month and lost 15 lbs and the second time was befor Christmas for a month and I lost 3 lbs that time! It's a great idea!0

Maybe we should start a group for it?0

I'm in too! I'll weigh myself and take measurements tomorrow morning, then not till Apr 2nd. I just bought a food scale today too so hopefully that helps me lose even more weight. I've gained a lb in the last 2 weeks0

Sounds good!0

That's how I gained weight in the first place....=/0

I gave up my scale for Lent last year. I also didn't weigh the whole 90 days of Insanity... only a before weigh in and an after. I only weigh once a month now. Good luck you guys!0

The battery died in my scale the end of January and I just got a new one last week...got on it once since but won't do an actually weigh-in 'til the 1st. I am trying not to worry too much about the scale and concentrate more on my clothes! I'm in for March!0

I weigh monthly, my weight fluctuates daily and it's easy to get discouraged when I weigh daily.0

Good Luck to you all. Wish I could join you but the day I don't step on the scale I find I am up more then a few pounds. I can't explain it but I am with the person who stated that this is how he ended up the way he is.0

Great post but I can't participate as I am doing a weight lose challenge. Still a great idea none the less0

I only weigh once every 4-6 weeks, and it works ok for me. I don't really believe in scales. I was talking to a friend today who said (and I see her point) it only matters that you hit your target weight once a year. If you can keep your weight stable enough to be the same healthy weight at some point every year, you are fine. It's when you let the weight creep up a few lbs every year you have a problem.0

Me too!!0

I like this idea, im in!0

I gave up my scale for Lent.0

It's a great thing to make yourself do! I did this as a challenge for this month...and tomorrow is the first day I'll have stepped on a scale in a month! Feel liberated and freaked out all at once...:grumble:0
