Quick! How much does the tooth fairy pay
Replies
-
We always got a dollar for front teeth and 3 dollars for molars. I guess she really liked molars!0
-
Holy crap -- I got 10 cents, then 25 cents later in the mid-'80s, and that was pretty common among my peers. Losing teeth has turned into serious cash!0
-
Wow. I feel cheated  .
I got only $1 per tooth, but then again, I started losing teeth in the 70s, but didn't lose the last baby tooth until HIGH SCHOOL.:embarassed:0 -
I never got money, I always received gifts that were wrapped and placed next to my bed. However, I give my kids anywhere form $2 - $5 depending on how much I have on me.0
-
For little teeth, I got a dollar.
For big teeth (molars), I got a 5.0 -
I say don't follow what others pay but pay what you think the tooth fairy pays from your own passed experience. Personally there were ten of us kids in our family and we're all one year apart so you only know we got loose change, sometimes a quarter but hey...it's cool to look under the pillow and see anything but the tooth. LOL.0

I always had backup special toothbrushes or special "kid toothpate", around for when i didn't have change in the house. Think the rate was 1-2$...unless it had a cavity in it.0

I used to gt a $20 back in the day! I wonder what i did with my money lol0

I say replace the tooth with a raisin or black marker it.........Then in the mourning when your child comes crying to you , tell them that they ate too much Candy and sugar soda and it ruined the tooth. That way you save your money and teach the kids to eat healthy and brush after every time they have sugary snacks Out of fear of missing out on Cash ! Just Say'in0

10 cents here too! Thought that was pretty exciting back in the day!! I've always thought a coin was cool, never heard of bills being left by the tooth fairy.. hm. Probably depends on what Country the tooth fairy if traveling in at the time......
 $5 piece???!! Crazy with all the teeth a kid will lose x the rest of the kids losing them as well, least they can pay for college that way!:laugh:I say don't follow what others pay but pay what you think the tooth fairy pays from your own passed experience. A story my mom tells me: she forgot to put money under my pillow once... I cried.... Then she told me well your room wasn't clean she didn't dare go in your room she might break her neck.... Yea well I believed my mom and boy did I clean up my room in a hurry! lol
Oh my gosh! I had to do the same thing to my daughter. She woke me up crying one morning saying the tooth fairy didn't come, and in my head I'm like, "Oh crap!" I quickly came up with, "Well, sometimes the tooth fairy runs out of money because too many kids lose their tooth on the same night. I'm sure she will come tomorrow." The next night the "tooth fairy" came and left a note apologizing for running out of money the night before! I felt so awful, but she seemed okay after that.
To OP: I gave my daughter $1 for all teeth. She also told me that someone in her class got $5, but I just told her that their are different tooth fairies and they give different amounts. $5 per tooth seems too high to me!0 -
My kids are 9 & 10yrs - they have only ever been given a dollar. Admittedly, some of their friends have been given significantly more.0

I remember getting one of those big 50 cent coins. I know they don't make them anymore but if you happen to have one laying around, it might be cool to give a coin that not many people have.
In recent years half dollars have been minted only for collectors, due to large Federal Reserve and government inventories on hand of pre-2001 pieces, this mostly due to lack of demand and large quantity returns from casino slot machines that now operate "coinless". If and when the reserve supply runs low, the mint will again fill orders for circulation half dollars.
From wikipedia...
You made it sound like they're never going to make half-dollars again... You can always request them from a bank and if they don't have any, they'll get some shipped in.0 -
i remember getting 25 cents and being thrilled lol my sister gives five dollars .. thats too much to me but i guess whatever the tooth fairy deems appropriate would be a good amount0
-
I'm 24, and always used to get a dollar.0
-
£1 front teeth, £2 molar0
-
the tooth fairy in my house was moody... sometimes I got 50 cents, once I got 20$. Honestly, kids will be excited to get anything. I wouldn't be too worried about it0
-
$1.000
-
i give my daughter anythin from £1 to £5... she is quite aware that the more clean her teeth are.. the more she gets, so kinda encourages her to brush more often... am obsessive about clean teeth lol0
-
I always got small presents instead of money, like a new coloring book or a pretty bracelet! Money didn't interest me as a child haha0
-
Tooth fairies only carry coins, so it's £1.
Funny, my 9 year old still believes in the tooth fairy0 -
$2 bill or a silver dollar.. the tooth fairy only deals in unique currency..
Agreed, that's what the tooth fairy does here.0 -
Come on! Drop a C-note on her college savings and leave the statement under her pillow. ;-)0
-
We did one dollar for the first tooth and twenty five cents after.. Tooth fairy is cheap here ! Lol you could tell her the tooth fairy gives out different amounts for how clean it is, which tooth it is and so on. Good luck!
We do the same!0 -
I would say no more than $2.....0

LOL She might appreciate that when she is 17....but I can see a temper tantrum of fury directed towards the 'stupid' tooth fairy if she found a statement tomorrow morning...haha0 -
a dollar0

Good night! I got a quarter when I lost teeth. My kids get funny money. I give them odd coins- 50 cent pieces, dollar coins, whatever funky coin is sitting around that they normally don't get to see. They love it. Our tooth fairy doesn't believe in inflation. lol0
-
Toonie per tooth ($2). Stopped when he was about 8. Now, lost teeth just cost me dentist bills!0
