Hi all MFP folks,
Just wanted to vent at how irritating it is to gain weight even when you know you've been eating those cookies.
I always seem to gain weight in the summer, WHY? Have gained 8 pounds in a month despite walking what feels like almost all the time!!! But again those cookies I never usually eat, oh and some cinnamon scones (never get involved with these little fellows!), as well as potato chips, soft ice cream and hamburgers (I really never do eat those! am veg 95%)....should I go on? No I don't think so either.
Thanks for letting me vent, grrrrrr! :grumble:
Best of luck to all of you out there, I know the world is more amazing and full of wonders than my silly weight woes! Jeez!
Cheers!

Hey, you are honest with yourself, and that's important. Logging in the food really helps I bet. I just joined, but am excited to actually see what goes into me and the calories they contain. Keep being honest and logging that food and I bet you'll get it!!0

Just like Chalene (love her) from Turbo Jam says, "Everything's equal. You lose some, you find some."
You just have to make the decision that this CAN'T happen. Make sure you record every single day. When you start skipping, then you make excuses and think, "hmm that cookie was only 80 calories" when it could be 125! It's amazing how less conscious you are of your eating habits when you don't record.
Don't be discouraged though because it happens to all of us. Just be determined and always remember how angry you get when the pounds come back and how much happier you are when they're gone!
Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -
Plan your meals and allow yourself some treats in your calorie/meal plan for the day. Then, it won't seem so hard and you won't feel like you're doing without. Don't be hard on yourself. Setbacks help you realize what's important and get up and try again.0

Hi all,
thanks to all who read and replied.
It always helps to know there are others out there, who've been there.
And yes I need to log my calories more often.
Have been lax...at best.
many Thanks!
Cheers and good luck to all!

I've definitely BTDT! Joining this site and logging my calories every day has really been an eye-opener for me. Its easy to forget how many calories you're really eating sometimes, especially if the serving size is so ridiculously small for such a large number of calories. Its easy to go overboard in the summer with all the ice cream shops, BBQs, late nights out with friends, etc. But I agree with everyone else, log your calories every day just so you can see in writing how many you are actually consuming. Then later on in the day when you're staring down those cookies you can think back to your log and know if you can work them into your daily allotment or not (or if they're worth the calories!) And logging always makes me more calorie-conscious and more apt to make healthier choices, because when I'm considering a yummy cookie or piece of chocolate, I think to myself, 'do I really want to have to log that??' LoL.0
