How many cups of beans in a typical mexican dish?

How many cups are typically in a Mexican dish at a restaurant? Going out this weekend and want to know approximately how many to log. Huge difference between 1 cup and 8 cups, and I'm clueless. This would be for pinto or black beans.
How many would you guess or do you log for Mexican rice also? I don't normally eat the rice, but just in case

Uhm, there should not be an ENTIRE cup of beans in ANY dish you eat! That's A LOT!!!!
A good trick I found is to just start measuring my food at home so I have a better eye to guestimate when I go out.
I also just ask for things like "half the beans" or "half the cheese/no cheese" so I can estimate better too.0 -

Do you think comparing a local Mexican joint to a chain would be similar?0
