My fake sweetener hierarchy goes as such Splenda>Truvia>Stevia.
I like splenda's B vitamin packets, brown sugar blend, and big bag for cooking... Truvia tastes the same as splenda to me... I'm not sure though if they have the same brown sugar blend or big bag for cooking as Splenda. I tried stevia once and didn't care for it.0 -
I like Truvia much better than Splenda. Splenda is alright for baking, but if I put it in a drink like coffee or iced tea, I get a weird aftertaste and a strange film on my tongue.0

Truvia is made from stevia so I like it best!0

It's equally artificial and processed. They soak the leaves in methanol, dry them, extract the chemicals from them, and crystalize them. It is a completely lab created manufactured product, just like every other artificial sweetener. They apparently just have a better marketing department.

Truvia® (pronounced Tru-VEE-a) is the brand name for the first great-tasting, natural, zero-calorie sweetener made from rebiana, the best-tasting part of the stevia leaf.
Unlike stevia used in dietary supplements, which typically refers to a mixture of many components from the stevia leaf, rebiana is a fully characterized product that is consistent in quality.
Cargill has worked for years to develop Truvia® natural sweetener in response to consumer demand for a natural, zero calorie way to sweeten foods and beverages.0 -
Truvia is stevia and is a natural sweetner. Splenda tastes better in baking/cooking to me. So I use stevia when just wanting to sweeten things up, but Splenda to bake with (which is VERY rare).0

I am thinking of getting a Stevia plant...that way bypass all the modification.....could use the leaves raw or dried and ground up. If it is good, then great..will add it to my herb garden..if not..oh well, live and learn.0
