Is there such a thing as drinking to much water? I drink around 15 ish 8 oz glasses a day which is almost double what they recommended on here!

yes there is a thing as drinking to much water. Weird but it's called water poisoning. You have to drink a lot like over a gallon in a very short amount of time. It makes your body flush everything good and bad out of your system.0

a speaker at our TOPS meeting suggested drinking a half your body weight in oz. every day. That is a lot but I am trying to do this. Do not drink this amount at one time but throughout the day.0

I drink 13-18 glasses a day. Never had a problem. Doctor says keep it up. I don't think you have a problem. Unless you are working out hours a day, you shouldn't run into problems with low electrolytes. And that's really the issue of too much water, diluting out the electrolytes in your blood stream. If you're worried about it, throw an extra pinch of salt on your food!0

I read somewhere if you are trying to lose weight to cut your weight in half and that is how many oz water you should drink in a day. Unfortunately I can't remember where I saw it. It wasnt here.
I imagine, like everything else, you could get too much.0 -

We must've been posting at the same time.0 -
You can drink too much water. But 15 glasses a day isn't too much. Too much would be if you like sat down and just inhaled an entire gallon, lol.
I drink anywhere from 8-15 glasses a day and I actually feel like absolute crap when I don't.0 -
Ok, i drink my water through out the day. Not all in one sitting. and its all I drink (besides the occasional cup of coffee/tea/sugar free hot chocolate, yum). I'm glad to hear that everyone else drinks just as much waster as me!0

You'd have to drink an awful lot of water but there's a condition called hyponatremia whereby, in a nutshell, you have stripped sodium & electrolytes from your body. It's caused the deaths of several marathon runners as the symptoms are often confused with dehydration and re-hydration exacerbates things.
For most of us mere mortals the only side effect from drinking lots of water will be frequent trips to the bathroom.0 -
Drink when you're thirsty, stop when you're not. However many cups that takes is the correct number. Simple.0

This is pretty much what I go by now! I don't force myself to drink, but I tend to be thirsty!0 -
