What if I don't consume all my calories

If I have a target of 1800 calories but the number goes up because I exercise and I still only consume 1800 calories is that good or is it counter-productive?

If you normally only drove across town and used a gallon of gas would be ok to drive across state with just a gallon of gas? 8-)0

I do not consume my exercise calories back. You are going to hear hundreds of different responses on this one! Good luck figuring it out.0

I like this!
Look into calorie dense options - nuts, nut butters, avacado, cheese. Keep that "tank" filled up, so that you don't burn the wrong fuel (muscle).0 -
Since you have a lot of weight to lose it's fine to consume 1800 calories and not eat your extra earned exercise calories. You have lots of fat stores your body can draw from so you don't need to worry about starvation mode. This will not be the case the closer you get to your goal weight.0

I honestly think its pointless to workout and eat back the calories you burn...at least not all of them. Its hard I know! Its a teaser for me, think of this eating while walking, doesnt make sense. Im trying not to do that.. but everyone is entitled to their own oppinion! GOOD LUCK!!0

Once you've lost a bit of weight, you may find that you hit a plateau if you continue to not eat them back. At that point, start eating some of the back. Someone with 10 pounds or less to lose should really consider eating all of them. It seems to get more important the less you have to lose.0 -

This is probably the most rational look at this I've seen in a while.0 -
Another option is to eat your exercise calories back for a few weeks and see if you maintain a consistent weight loss. If you don't then eat less back.
I always eat mine back and I've been consistently losing.
But everybody is different so try something - measure- adjust and repeat to see what works for you.0 -
Key: Feed the Muscle not the fat.... and all will be fine.0
