Hello all! I am new to the message boards but I have been using the food diary for a few weeks now. I recently found out that I am a diabetic. It runs in my family so I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised. So needless to say I did a 180 on my eating lifestyle. I have lost 12 lbs since the end of Feb. I already feel pretty awesome. I live in Western NY so I am patiently waiting for decent weather so I can start walking in the fresh air. My blood sugar went from a 325 to 135. My doc is pretty optimistic that as soon as I get to a healthier weight then my blood sugar will stay under control. So right now I am on sugar medicine and eating healthier and getting more active.
I would also like to say "GOOD LUCK" to all my fellow dieters!
God Bless,
msflyinlew

Welcome:flowerforyou: I found out I was diabetic 3yrs ago and just recently had to go see a kidney specialist. I start here on MFP 6weeks ago and the doctor has decreased my medication. I am still having problems of my BS being to low so it may have to be altered again. I feel so much better and I find it would be hard to do without the support of everyone on here. I also find that the lower I keep my carbs the better the BS stays down. Good health to you!:flowerforyou:0

I just found out I am a diabetic 3 weeks ago. It runs in both sides of my family and all my siblings have it. I have lost 8lbs in the 3 weeks I have been here and I do feel a little better. Very good incentive to get healthy and I love it here. Keep up the good work and welcome.0
