Goals vs. Friends

I'm talking about straddling that line between meeting your own goals, and not completely blowing off your friends and family who want to go out for dessert or spend an evening playing video games.
How do you decide?
My personal goals are so sacred to me, but so are my friends.

Make the best decision for YOU. Making poor decision is what got us all here in the first place, right? Do what's best for YOU. Those that love you and are true friends will accept that.0

There's no reason you can't have dessert - just plan for it and account for it - do "homework" and find out how many calories in your dessert of choice! Do an extra workout, or just budget your calories differently that day. Completely depriving yourself sometimes is worse than allowing yourself and occasional and moderate splurge! OR, you can go out with those friends and just have a cup of tea/coffee, or if the place you are going offers fruit, or another healthier option if it's offered...
It's hard sometimes, but it's important to make room for both sometimes!

I do spend less time with my friends who do not have the same "weight loss" goals as I do but I try to make time for them. I live in a small town so really all we can do is eat and drink. If I go out to eat with them I always ask in advance where so I can do research on what to order. The drinking part was hard for me at first. I started training for a Warrior Dash and cut out all alcohol. It was so worth it. I now go to bars with them but I drink water or sugar free red bulls. I really don't miss drinking much. I now get to sit back watch everyone makes fools out of themselves and then I make sure everyone gets home safe. It works. I have to put myself first.I'm talking about straddling that line between meeting your own goals, and not completely blowing off your friends and family who want to go out for dessert or spend an evening playing video games.
