I went to the ROM today (Royal Ontario Museum)
and walked for about 5 hrs, at a leisurely pace,
I put down 260 minutes, cuz it would have been 300 minutes (60x5=300)
but minus a couple minutes for stopping (I barely stopped though)
so according to this for my weight and all that stuff, I burned 977 calories? That seems like a lot for one day, but is that right? if so go me! lol

That sounds accurate. You would have burning between 3-5 calories per minute if you were just casually walking, so around 1,000 would be right. I love days like that where you can enjoy & relax and still get in your calorie burn! Way to go!

I stood in line for 8 hours to vote last year and burned 1358 just standing there.
  • Thanks! I took the dog for a 15 minute walk before that so that was 67 calories I beleive it said,
    so that means
977+67=1044 calories burned today for doing something that was fun and enjoyable! Woot Woot! hehe

Wow, I'm deeply impressed! Sure puts us Canadians to shame with our pitiful turnout the last federal and BC provincial election. Good for you, both for being so determined and burning calories that way!
