Packaging vs. Website

I purchased Kettle Cuisine's Thai Chicken Curry Soup. My package says 180 cals, 10 g fat, 11 g protein, 13 g carb. However, the website lists it as 330 cals, 10 g fat, 13 g protein, and 40 g carbs. How am I supposed to know which one is correct? It's a frozen food, and my soup is from 2011... it's a 150 cal difference, so it definitely matters, you know?

Holy moly! Their own website says that? Is it based on with/without chicken? I'd say erron the side of caution with this one and go with the website.

I would go by what the package says. Not all of the nutrition info on here is confirmed.

It is possible that they changed the ingredients after the manufacture of your particular purchase. I usually go with what is on the package label when there is a discrepancy.

I'm not sure if you were referring to the MFP web site, or that of the company which makes the product, as I had initially assumed.

Wow, that's a really big difference! If you're sure the serving sizes are the same, I'd go with the package. After all, where would the database info come from if not some other user's package? It might be an older recipe, or maybe you have a light version.

It's listed as 330 on their website, not MFP. I looked more at the website, and apparently they change packaging based on local goods available... so I guess I should stick with the 180 listed on my package? Seems they changed the ingredients after. I'm guessing they added more brown rice, since both the calories and carbs went waaay up.

I just looked, and brown rice is now listed fourth on the website, whereas it's fifth on my package. Guess they changed the recipe! Thanks for the help :)

I always, ALWAYS go with the higher number. Just in case. :) I usually overestimate my calories, always erring on the side of caution.
