Walk the Line...as cheesy as it sounds, seeing the context of the song from the movie really struck home for me..

Folsom Blues is a great song... but I think my favorite might be one piece at a time, or boy named sue.

although Sunday morning coming down has my favorite line... that beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had another for dessert

Sorry to be a pedant but it's 'had one more for dessert'. It flows better.

    Loved 'Highwayman' by The highwaymen.

"Hurt" makes me cry, every time. But I can't turn it off.

Of course, I'm partial to his cover of the old Civil War song "Lorena" since I was named for it. "I've Been Everywhere" is one of my favorite running songs. "What Do I Care" has a special place, too. And I had "Folsom Prison Blues" as my ringtone for a long time. Ooh, can't forget "Thirteen," either. Amazing how he can make a Danzig song sound like his own. Same goes for his cover of U2's "One." Haunting.

    There's just too many.

Gosh too many great ones. Let's go with the first one that sprung into my mind upon reading the question: Sam Hall.

I LOVE his cover of Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage"

    Me too!

So many are great songs, it's impossible to pick a favorite. I like Big River and Cocaine Blues in addition to the classic favs, Folsom Prison Blues, Boy Named Sue, Sunday Morning Coming Down. I could go on for days.

Edit...How could I forget "I've Been Everywhere" ?! It starts, literally, on the road I live on ;)

All of them. I especially love his last recordings. All the pain he had endured in his life is right there in that trembling voice. You could tell he had become weak and that made the songs that much more strong. Hurt has to go down in history as the greatest cover ever recorded.
