Heart Rate Monitor Problems!

I have a Mio petite drive heart rate monitor and the resting heart rate seems to be stuck at 140 which doesn't make sense. I did 33 mins of dancing today and it said I only burned 58 cals which I know is not correct. On MFP it says 33 mins of dancing, general equals 169 cals burned. Any ideas of how I can fix this problem? Up until Saturday my HRM was working properly. I wonder if there is a button I pressed by mistake. I am thiking the resting heart rate on the watch should read 90 not 140 but I am not able to change it back. Help please!:indifferent: :explode:

Does that HRM come with a chest strap? if it does, make sure the strap is wet before you put it on. If thats not it, maybe the battery needs to be changed?0

Does it have a chest strap?
If not, then it only takes your heart rate when you touch the watch.. so lets say you touch it once and it reads 140, its going to keep reading 140 until you touch it again.. once you touch it, it will then go to whatever your heart rate is at that point.0 -
Try changing the battery. Also, do you gently wash the strap after use and let air dry?0

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone! I found out that I had pressed the Set button by mistake during Zumba, when my HR was 140 and it the resting heart rate stayed at 140 when I started my next day exercises. No wonder it was showing that I was not burning enough calories during my subsequent workouts! Imagine my RHR being 140 all the time! LOLLL0
