Discouraged after 125 days

So after 125 days of logging, as I am sitting in the downstairs in my frumpy clothes during the tornado warnings, my oldest son looks at me and says "so are you still doing that dieting thing?" Not with an encouraging, I can tell, look, but with a you still look awful look. I know he didn't mean to hurt my feelings but it did and he was right. I finally changed my weight this morning to show I had gained 2 lbs. instead of lost. After 125 days I am only down 23 lbs. and although I have had lots of ups and downs I am eating SIGNIFICANTLY less than what I was 125 days ago.

First off you (and your son) should be proud of that 23 lbs, and your dedication to stick it through for 125 days, that's a long time! That being said it may be time to change what you are doing slightly - you can try decreasing your calories by 100/day for 2 weeks and see how your body responds, or you can go the other way and add 100cal/day for 2 weeks (your body may be in starvation mode). Changing your exercise routine and adding more weights can make a difference as well. Most improtantly don't get discourages, this is a lifestyle change not a sprint and you've shown you can do it for a long period. Have any NSV to be proud of?0

I feel your pain. I have been at this for 10 days and have lost a whopping 0.4 lbs! I'm not even on course to have your weight loss. You have lost over 20 lbs in 4 months! That's more than 5 lbs a month! We have to just keep on keeping on and look at the bigger picture! If we make this a lifestyle change and that 5 lb a month loss continues, think where you will be this time next year. The alternative is to "go off the diet" and gain 5 lbs a month. Don't do it! :-)0

You've lost more than a pound a week. I'd say that is great progress.
What type of exercising are you doing? Maybe change that up a bit or add some exercise days throughout the week. Are you sure you are eating enough calories?0 -
Ah children! Don't worry sweetie, you are doing great. I am proud of you and when he gets older he will be too. Maybe he just wanted some attention. Who knows why people say negative things. I am going to add you as a friend. I want to watch you succeed!0

I think that is awesome! Think back to 4 months ago & you weighed 23 pounds MORE than you do now! I lost 30 pounds last year & then found out that my husband has liver disease & kidney failure.. that made us both quit smoking in November 2011 & since then (with all the stress) I have gained back 20 of what I had lost! So I am back on track since Thursday & looking for motivation & you are very inspiring to me! By the way men in general don't notice so much especially if they see you alot... don't let your son get you down.. Neither of my grown sons seemed to notice when I went from a size 16 to a 10 last year.. but people who hadn't seen me for awhile were stunned. Just keep up the good work.. you are learning a new lifestyle- not a diet...:)0
