We went for a 5 mile run/walk today. When we got home my husbands foot was killing him. he has ziggs for shoes so they are pretty good shoes, I have the same ones and norm don't have foot pains... Anyway, he said it hurts on the outside along the edge of his foot. Does anyone know why it would be hurting and what can he do to ease the pain? He took motrin and I'm about to give him an ice pad to see if it helps.

Thank you so much!

He could go to a specialty running store and have his gait analyzed. Even the "best" shoes might be the wrong shoes for him.

    Only do mild cardio.
Why run when you can walk and still lose weight?

This is true. My feet were killing me. I had mine analyzed and discovered my sneaks were all wrong. Plus I needed an arch support put in my left one and never knew it.

Is 5 miles the norm for you both? If not, you can expect some discomfort afterwards involving muscles, bones or tendons because they're just not used to it.

we did push it longer by a 1 1/2 miles but did a lot of walking. Our pace was a good min slower on the average... He is going to pay attention to how he is running next time and try diff shoes if it hurts again.
    Thanks for all your advice!

It could just be an overuse injury, doing more than you are used to doing. Hopefully it will heal soon.

If not, have him see a podiatrist and see if there is anything going on............
