Heart rate dropping during exercise?

Trying to figure out this heart rate stuff. When I am doing my workout of mixed cardio and strength training, My heart rate goes from resting(80-90bpms) to good level of (130-140bpms) sometimes spiking into the 150's. I am noticing that when I am running my hr is dropping into the 80-90bpm range again. As soon as I finish, it pops right back up. I do not notice this when jumping rope or doing foot fires. Should I be worried about it dropping like that? I am trying to make sure I am breathing. It is so weird.

When you are running does your effort seem strong enough to elevate your HR? Is your breathing rate increased, etc.? If so, maybe you have a loose connection or faulty monitor that is not working correctly when running.0

Are you using a strap on HRM? Might be getting loose when you run or something because that does not make sense physiologically unless you are running in slow motion matrix style.0

I thought the connection was loose so I adjusted it many times. When hubby wears it it doesn't drop it stays steady or increases. I am breathing hard and defiantly working hard to the point where I would expect my hr to be 150+ during jogging/running.0
