I'm Chris, I live in Ohio. When I was 21 I weighed 225lbs(avg'd) and I finally got sick of the double chin/general lack of feeling good. I cold turkeyed soda(I could take down 6 cans a day easily) and fast food and just started running my head off. I also did some work on a Total Gym and some benching. I was never focused on muscle building I just wanted to drop fat and tone. I got down to 175-180 lbs and was running 10 miles every other day and 1 mile time runs between w/ the total gym toning on the short days. Then I found a girlfriend, made a lot of idiotic young mistakes combined w/ an awkward living situation. (I drove between 3 cities about 25-30 mins apart daily and worked 2 jobs, one full time.) $2k later, many pounds later, and years later, my life got off track.
Now I weigh around 255-260 range and am down a bit already since getting this app and testing it out. I am a bigger waist but I don't look that much worse, and most people never get within 20-25 lbs of my actual weight. I work for my dad's business and push around slot machines full time and work on them, this has packed on quite a bit more upper body muscle than I have ever had before. So now I am aiming to try and get to 185 lbs, but I am skeptical I will get that low. I don't know if I want to be that low. I really don't want to be small/frail. If I get there with packed muscle, awesome. But right now a 200 lb weight would make me feel much better.
Right now my goal is to control calories for first gear, and I am doing okay there. The next gear will be to get my workouts in daily swing. I am starting that one today. I already am to almost all water(about a gallon a day), diet soda occasionally, flavored water, skim milk, and Diet V8 splash. I've gotten liquid calories under control which used to be my biggest issue. Now it seems to be wanting to eat unhealthy foods, but I am working on that slowly. A lack of a kitchen(functionally) makes it a lot harder than before, but I'll make it work!
My ultimate goal...... The Flying Pig Marathon 2013. This is a HUGE goal and why I am giving myself a year to get there. Feel free to get in touch w/ me, I don't really have anyone around me that is doing anything like this and it makes it a bit harder. My girlfriend is coming around and my family is starting to see I am taking it serious, so that should help too!
Anyway, best wishes and hope everyone finds their goals in the rear view mirror before they realize they passed it!

Hey Chris, you are welcome to add me if you'd like, my user name is MY31169. I live in CO, but looking for people to help push me and support my goals. I retired from the military last year and just let myself go. I've been eating clean and working out on a regular basis since the beginning of January. I was lucky enough to win a 16 week transformation program from a facebook site and I'm making great progress, but have my moments of weakness and laziness. :-) It's a 4 phase program that is 4 weeks long...he provides nutrition plans and workouts, but I am responsible for implementing them both. I'm good at the eating part, but really need to push myself on the workout parts. I do the workouts, but know I don't push myself like I should. That's where it would be nice to have the trainer on site! :-) I'm greatful for the opportunity to have won this program and made a commitment to myself to get in the best shape I can and keep up with it. As we get older, it's harder to keep the weight off and stay fit. We both have one goal in common....a healthier lifestyle.0
