Ok, you've all convinced me, little exercise is better than none at all. However, I still don't want to go to the gym.. id rather throw in wii sports and do a little boxing in the comfort and privacy of my own home. Would that count??
And do u need to eat you exercise calories back?? I have a hard enough time eating my 1400!

Why not go for a nice walk? A nice brisk walk can be quite beneficial. I started last August just walking 3 miles a day (on a gravel uphill road) twice per day. I now work out at the gym but I still walk once a day.0

If it's nice out, try walking. Having somewhere to go makes it easier/less boring.
But yes, wii sports would count as well imo.0 -
I'll be honest with you. I'm currently not working out, because I'm trying to focus on my diet. I believe that at 1250 calories I am sort of on the fence of too few calories. I notice when I eat a hundred or two more than 1250 and don't exercise, I lose weight consistently. When I exercise and eat calories back I do not. (I think it has to do with MFP over-estimating calories burned.) So, I'm trying to figure out how many calories are right for me, then I want to get a Heart Rate Monitor and start adding in cardio. I am going to start strength training on the Bowflex this week as well.
I won't say you can't lose weight without exercising (because I am), but I have a lot of weight to lose, and I know that when I get closer and closer to my goal weight I will wish I had added exercise to help tone up my body. So, I'm building up slowly. Do whatever exercise works for you, Wii Fit, walking, dancing, whatever.0 -
Wii sports is just fine and will be beneficial. Anything is better than nothing! If you prefer to work out at home there are many choices for exercise videos that can give you a great workout! Good Luck!!!
Oh, and regarding eating back calories "burned" in exercise - my target is to never eat back more than half - I agree in some cases MFP overestimates.0 -
At home workouts definitely count! Like I said in your other thread, try Jillian Michaels DVDs! They're really popular, effective, and cheap As for exercise calories, that's very controversial. I don't eat back my exercise calories, but a lot of people do! It's really up to you. Do some research and see where you stand, or just leave it be since you already struggle with 1400! Best wishes0

Any exercise counts. I split my workouts between home and the gym. If you're doing Wii Fit that certainly counts. Doing something you enjoy will help you to exercise regularly.0

I'd try to do something before work, cause it might give you more energy throughout the day. If you don't want to go to the gym, then don't. If your more comfortable working out at home do it. If you are having a hard time eating your daily calories, try some high calorie foods that are good for you, almonds, pistachios, peanut butter, or a protein shake. Best of luck.:drinker:0
