No, I am not going to be in Orlando for spring training this year. I have been to spring training games in Arizona in the past.

One of my baseball pet peeves is the length of spring training. I think it should be about 7-10 days shorter than it is. Spring training is an outdated ritual from the time when players were not paid enough to make baseball their sole means of support. Players had jobs in the off season and needed the spring training time to be in shape for opening day. Now players stay in shape year round. The earlier the regular season starts, the earlier the World Series ends. If the World Series goes 7 games, the baseball season will end on November 1 this year. That is too late. The World Series should end somewhere between Oct. 20-25.

Any tips on how to make my experience lots of fun? This is my first spring training.

Spring training isn't really that great. I can think of a lot more fun things to do in the Orlando area besides spring training. How about Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon or Sea World? All of those things seem more fun to me than exhibition baseball games, and I'm a baseball fan.
