Hello MFP people.

This is just a little plug for a MFP group called 'The Geek Squad' - a group for all things geek...

    I'm a huge gamer, I read for.......FUN (oh noes), anime is also a big thing of mine.

    I actually fell in love with my husband while playing World of Warcraft together.

    why did people just go after this guy? All he was trying to do was promote the group he created in case no one knew about it and was into "geek" stuff. I'll be joining.

    heh...I say I am a nerd in tongue and cheek. I sit in front of a computer all day long. I have hacked my own laptop to test the security (cracked it in 5 minutes unfortunately) and I am running Ice Cream Sandwich on my Droid X. Even with that, there is no way I would claim to be a nerd. I have met nerds in the truest sense.

    I blame all this on Big Bang Theory...and I love that show.

    Geek Chic is the new fashion statement.

    The best thing about geeks is if the don't perform all you have to do is turn them off and back on again and they re-boot. YAY

    Best Buy can burn in hell, as can other overcharging poser chains jumping on the "geek is cool" bandwagon. Buy your parts from newegg. Fix them yourself - or find a small local shop.

    Claiming the term "geek" is annoying? ffs. I AM a geek, and not because I think I identify with the pop culture version of geek. I've been a geek since birth. No changing that. I love logic and computers and sciences. I do also exhibit occasional nerdy qualities, like straight As and playing in band. I wear glasses, work with computers and data, got my degrees in history and library/info science, studied languages... lol. Ok, maybe I'm a nerd. :P Does this make me annoying? I tend to think I'm a pretty nice person and fairly conscientious of my effect on others. Nobody's ever called me annoying. (At least, not to my face.)

    ANYWAY, /endrant, go join Geek Squad if you're of the mind to do so. It's rad.

    I would probably LOVE the Big Bang Theory, but I can't get past the laugh track...honestly I know when things are funny, but not after every line.
