My closet is about to be a very lonely place

Today I went in my closet and grabbed my favorite dress from last year. It had a fitted bodice, and a full skirt. Well, the fitted bodice doesn't really fit anymore. I had 2-3 inches to spare everywhere.

I reached a milestone over the weekend: my lowest weight in about 3 years. I have been at this weight +/- 5 pounds for the last 8, and possibly 10 years. So basically my entire wardrobe is approximately the size I am now. I have a few pieces here and there that are a little smaller (before my 30th b-day, I dropped around a .5-1 size so I have a couple of dresses that are a little bit smaller than the others in my closet) or a little bigger, but basically everything is about this size.

So the next few (or dozens) of pounds will put me one step further away from my entire wardrobe. When I was in college, I was a little smaller than I am now (1-1.5 sizes), but of course I long retired 99% of those clothes to the black hole of 90s fashion.

This is completely uncharted territory for me, in the next 4-8 weeks, almost nothing in my closet will fit (at least on the bottom, my upper body shrinks much slower). And I'll have to get all new bras because all of my current ones are edging closely into too loose in the band territory. :(

try taking some of the nicer stuff to a consignment shop. I did that with my size 16 & 14's and it paid for a good group of my size 12's I just hit.

I also only purchase a few staples... jeans and a few cute tops ( i wear a uniform at work) my casual/ lounge wear I am keeping until they are falling off and then will buy a size too small to "grow" into :flowerforyou:

I am currently shopping consignment and Goodwill- Once I hit my Goal size 8 I plan on a wonderful shopping spree! I just can't afford a shopping spree each size.

For sure you need to get the Big girl clothes OUT! keep one pair of jeans to compare you body too in a few months- otherwise don't keep it! the expense to replace will help keep you motivated
