Kick me in the butt

I feel stuck. I've lost about 20lbs since last summer and still want to lose another 20 in the near future. I'm just feeling so void of motivation and I need someone to tell me to smarten up. I think I'm letting some of the compliments I've been getting go to my head, even though I haven't really lost for about a month people who I haven't seen have been telling me I look good. So I'm thinking like oh I don't have to be so strict with what I eat because I'm still "looking good", you know?
Somedays I just feel weary... it's like well you're down 20 which is farther than you thought you'd get so let's just stop here. Have a giant bowl of Rolo ice cream. Skip working out for a week. Get drunk twice in one weekend. I can't think like this because even more than not wanting to gain the weight back, I really don't want to fall back into my old eating habits.
Can anyone relate? Lost weight and then kind of got tired of it? Did you eventually start losing weight again and if so, what motivated you?

KEEP GOING!!!!!
I can completely understand. At the moment I am stuck. I haven't even lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!! But my measurements are going down but I still have that mental road block.
However, seeing that my measurements are going down so I am starting to focus a little more on measurements and not so much on the scale.
When I do feel like jumping off the wagon, I sit myself down and ask 'Do you really want to go back to that place? Do you really want to flush all that work down the toilet?!'
No.
My motto for this whole journey is "Keep Calm and Carry On", which is excatly what at least I need to do. Just keep going because eventually you will get there. I wish you the best of luck and encourage you to keep going because you can and will get there
Keep Calm and Carry On,

You have 13 lbs to go I have 18 lbs to go. Let's team up and see how fast we can do this! I am currently breastfeeding my daughter for 3 more weeks and then will be able to hit it hard! (if I do now I dont make enough milk) I want to get this off ASAP. I also like to have a few cocktails on the weekends! I'd rather live a little and keep trucking along during the week. Ill friend request you and let's challenge each other!!0

I can relate completely... I lost 30kgs. I had achieved my target weight and size.. everyone was telling me how fantastic I looked, I felt amazing, I was so proud of myself.., I bought new clothes, and just felt fabulous... after a while, I slacked off a bit... a few more wines here and there, missed a few training sessions in a row etc...but it was ok, I was still looking great... (compared to what I WAS...) BUT... my new clothes were getting tighter... so I just stopped wearing those clothes... the weight crept back on... initially 2-3kgs, it snuck up to 7-8 after a holiday... Then in November last year it was up to 12kgs NEARLY HALF OF WHAT I WORKED SO HARD TO LOSE!!!! I joined another gym, and I am now back on track... with 3.2kgs down, with 8.8kgs to go. I have had to buy bigger clothes for work, and I swore I would never do this to myself again.
Some of us are naturally slim, the rest of us have to work at it, and work hard... every single day to keep healthy, and feeling and looking good.
You my friend, have it within you to reach your goals, you have lost so much already,... dont slide back... its heartbreaking having to do it all over again... Put your big girl panties on... and push on...0 -
A lot of us can relate! I only have about 3 lbs to go, but I'm not sure I'll get there. My husband is satisfied, and my kids are telling me it's time to stop losing. I know I'll always have to be vigilant not to let it creep back on. I've gotten rid of almost all the big clothes, except a few things I kept for working in the yard.
You don't really want a kick in the butt, 'cause you don't have as much padding as you used to have. Don't worry about the scale numbers, but work to get the body you want.0 -
I'm with you on this. I've lost 33 lbs over 3 years (almost). 10 when my mother died 3 years ago. Then 20 since joining MFP in 2011.
The only thing I can say to you is, you know you can do it. At the same time, there is another way to look at your 20 lb loss. You've successfully maintained it since joining. So, you know how to maintain. When you're ready to lose the next 20, you'll have plenty of practice doing maintenance, which is half the battle. Some people can lose quickly but like a bungee cord, they bounce right back to their old habits.
You've developed some good new habits then to maintain your loss. Great job!0 -

You know I went on a diet (eating healthy) and started exercising drank so much more water than I had been and I actually lost twice as much weight + I was making really good milk, I felt my boobs filling up better and baby was getting a better feed. Sometimes I wish I was still breastfeeding so I could lose the weight easier
So, take advantage of it0
