Hello everyone. I just turned 29 and I think the reality of me being almost 30 and overweight for half of my life finally kicked into high gear. I don'[t want to live another decade morbidly obese and extremely unhappy. I have a LOT to lose (I am looking at 150+ at this point) but I know I can do it. I have done every diet there is, but this time things are different. Calorie counting and trying to eat more proteins and veggies, exercising, and NOT dieting, just changing my lifestyle!
I started seeing a nutritionist at work (work at a hospital) and she is amazing. I lost 18 pounds last month with no exercise and just changing my old ways. I signed up for the gym last week and I am so pumped! After tracking food on my app and the website I realized yesterday that these message boards existed!! I hope to meet some wonderful people on here. Good luck to everyone

You are in the right place. There is so much support and encouragment and good advice on this site:flowerforyou: I have been a member here for a little over 2 years and lost 160 lbs with the help of this site. In the last year and a half I have gained half of it back and am working to take it off again and keep it off! I've learned some valuable lessons here, the biggest one being that losing the weight truly is only half the battle. You have to work just as hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle after the weight comes off as you do to get the weight off. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet. I learned that the hard way.
Good luck to you on your journey, we can do this!!:drinker:0 -
Welcome! I just climbed on board myself and everyone is so awesome! I started working out yesterday and felt amazing last night, mentally lol...physically I am sooooooo sore...but that will pass! Tracking the food on here has totally been awesome for me. It really helps me to see what I am doing and what I need to do. So glad you found this site! You are going to love it! Add me as a friend. We can encourage each other!0
