My most embarrassing moment of the year - so far!

OK, so I went out running yesterday, but it's 30-ish degrees again today with blustery March conditions. Seemed like a good idea to switch it indoors and do some cardio/strength. I did 25 minutes on core and weights, and then figured I'd finish it off with 30 minutes on the treadmill (this is not the embarrassing part :)). I'm about 20 minutes in on the treadmill, and my towel drops off the rails and lands next to the rolling platform. I figure I better grab it, or it might get caught in the rollers and then I'm likely to get killed! So, I reach down to pick it up, and my feet decide to keep moving with the treadmill. I'm crouched down and have the towel when gravity starts its inevitable pull. I start running in place like a three legged dog before I figure I will be better off just hitting the ground and rolling with it. I get deposited on the middle of the floor at approximately 5.5 mph, and end up with a nice treadmill/rug burn fading nicely into my right eyebrow! The place got quiet in a hurry! And, yes, ultimately I'm ok, nothing hurt as much as my ego. :) Just thought folks might appreciate a laugh for the day!

...is it really only March?

Oh no! haha (sorry, had to laugh a little). Glad you're okay though. I'm surprised something like that hasn't happened to me yet (uh oh, shouldn't have said that!)
  • Oh, bummer!!! I've actually done the same thing, though I managed to save my face and ripped a huge chunk of flesh from my shin instead!! I totally feel ya!! Pick up that ego, dust it off, and it's always good to have a laugh at one's own expense! :-)
