Question about urine

Ok, for the ones who decided to check out this thread, here's the question. Does anyone's urine change when they start taking vitamins? I've noticed the last couple days that my urine has become a bright yellow. I mean a bright, bright yellow. Normally as the day goes on and I'm drinking my water, my urine becomes less colorful and is pretty much clear. But since I've stated taking a One A Day Weight Smart Advanced vitamin, my urine is a bright, bright yellow throughout the day especially after I've taken the vitamin. I'm hoping that's what it is instead of something else.

Mine does, even when I drink lots of water. Don't know if that means my body isn't absorbing enough of it though.
  • If you ODing on vitamins, your body will get rid of them. One way your body gets rid of vitamins (well the water soluble ones; I believe C and ?; sorry don't remember but look it up) is through your urine. You might want to lower your vitamin dosage if that's the case with you, because taking too much is toxic. Some vitamins are stored up in your fat and do not go in the toilet! So be careful.

As long as you are staying hydrated and there is no pain or burning there is nothing to worry about. Certain supplements and medications can turn you urine different colors.

I went through this exact same thing when I started taking vitamins! I thought something was terribly wrong.

Turns out it's B vitamins - your body can only absorb so much, and the rest makes your urine bright. It's not dangerous.

You have two types of vitamins out there

    1. Watersoluable - Your body will get rid of ay of the excess you take in. They are Folic acid, B, Niacin, & C. They do not get stored in your body so they need to be replenished daily.

    2. Fat Soluable - These do get stored in your body so you need to be careful with how much you take in because they can get up to toxic levels. They are Vit A, D, E, & K

Your urine can change depending on what you eat, how much you drink, and what supplements you take in. Totally normal.

it is the vitamins coming out the other end. I think the B-vitamins in you multi vitamin are the culprit. No harm. Very normal
