How many calories are you expected to burn per workout?

Log it under Circuit Training, Its should be around 290-310 calories burned!
  • If you don't have a heart rate monitor, I really recommend one! I log it as circuit training, and it over estimates my calories! I'm 5"4, 133 pounds and just started Level 1 yesterday. In the 25 minutes, my HRM said I burned 137 calories, and today I burned 138. This is with no breaks or pauses, and I do every rep of every move. It would be different with your height/weight as well.

I agree with this post. I am at level one day 4 and my calories burned on my HRM has been anywhere from 120 to 180, and I weigh 197lbs, 5'1.

I'm 5'4" and currently 125, when I was doing the Shred (started at 140 lbs, ended at 135 lbs) I normally burned anywhere from 175-250 per session, depending on what level I did and how hard I was working. It can vary a LOT depending on how tall you are, how much you weigh, your fitness level, and your effort. Logging it as circuit training (20 minutes, don't count the warm-up and cool-down) will give you an estimate, but HRM is awesome and particularly motivating b/c you SEE how hard you're working (by where your heartrate falls in the 'zone' and by how many calories you're burning). Love my Polar FT4, it can clearly tell when I'm tired and not working as hard (fewer calories burned) and when I'm feeling great and really busting my butt (mega burn! LOL).

RI30 is slightly longer, too. Shred is 27 minutes total, RI30 levels 1 and 2 are 34 minutes, level 3 is 30 minutes, and I haven't made it to level 4 yet. LOL
