Hi all,

Have been given some horrible medical news today.. Long story short, a low carb/high protein diet is the only viable option for me at this point.

I have had the Atkins diet recommended but really cant get my head around it!!! How on earth can cream in your coffee be a healthy alternative?? And snacking on pork crackling?? I just dont really understand.

Im looking for someone to talk to who has done a low carb/high protein diet. Id really like to know what sort of things you ate/eat, what activity you did/do, and how you found/find the whole thing.

Any tips or tidbits would be greatly appreciated :)

How low carb are you talking? There are moderate low carb diets (eg. the zone), and more extreme ones that induce ketosis. What was your diagnosis (if you don't mind making it public)... it might help us to help you.

Look into Paleo. Marks Daily Apple was suggested, great info. Low carb doesn't mean you have to eat junk. Take in your carbs from fruits and veggies and your protien from lean meats! Avoid processed foods!
