Applesauce/cake box mix - UK equivalent?

I've seen a lot of lovely looking recipes on here for tempting sweet treats and am keen to try some of them but when I look at the recipe the ingredients often contains applesauce or cake mix. What is the UK equivalent to these products?
We can buy applesauce in jars but usually we have it with pork on a Sunday roast! Is that the same thing?
And we have cake box mixes but as far as I'm aware they are full of fat and sugar so I never buy them! What could I use instead?

There are low carb/low sugar uk websites that sell the US brands. Type a search in google.x

you can use the applesauce from jars, just make sure you check the sodium content.

or you can make your own in a slow cooker! very easy to make. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/10/crock-pot-applesauce.html

I don't bother with the box mixed stuff (would rather make stuff myself from scratch, try the website chocolatecoveredkatie for some funky recipes, or doctoroz.com the recipes are American, but I've figured out the whole cups to grams conversion. Asda also do a handy cups measuring set), but I use Tesco's or Asda jars of apple sauce. Yup, the same stuff we eat with our Pork roasts! Tesco's value brand actually has the lowest calories from what I can guess.

Now if we did canned pumpkin in the UK and Ireland I'd be a happy bunny. Oh and PB2 (the peanut butter powder). I'm obsessed with getting some, and they don't deliver to Europe. I'm going to the states on Saturday and I swear I have to find some to bring home!
