I asked on babycenter.com & looked it up, no luck :P
Does everyone get those at their obgyn offices? or do you have to go somewhere special for that?...
Im in PA, if that makes a difference..
I want one sooo bad (:

My ob did it at 20 or 24 weeks. It's a lot of fun. They don't recommend doing it other places outside a doctor's office. There are vanity set-ups that will do ultrasounds for the heck of it, but you need a real tech and doctor looking at the images in case they see a problem that needs to be treated. Just ask your doc! Oh, and check your insurance, too!0

They do them where I live, my sister got them done when she was pregnant. It is so amazing to see them! I'm not sure about where you live.0 -
I'll have to ask next time i go then! (:
I hope Aetna or keystone Mercy will cover it!0 -
Call your insurance and find out if they cover it, and if they don't, find out how much it would cost to have one.
I tried looking online but there were so many different answers!0 -
ya, me too.
ill think ill do that lol0 -
We had several with our obgyn and one outside with a 3d/4d imaging company. Look online for specials. Google 3/4d ultrasounds in your area. I think we paid less than $100.00 and for that got a ton of pics a CDRom and a DVD. Plus we found out officially we were having a girl. I was over the moon. It's so worth it to pay for it if your insurance doesnt cover it
There are a ton of places in Phoenix, AZ, not sure where you are though. Hope this helps

Aetna did cover mine that I had with my son. You have to ask your doctor if they do them and I would check with Aetna too. My doctor's office didn't do them, but the specialist I went to (because I was high risk) did them once a month and I never paid a penny extra.0

Oh! and duh me, CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!!0

Congrats! You should be able to ask your doctor. Not all insurance covers them.0

Lol thanks for the congrats! Appreciated!! (:
Yeah, ill just have to ask my dr on friday when I go.
Even with random ultrasounds like the 3d one i wanted, I hope it covers! But if not, it will be worth it to pay for the whole thing!!0 -
I just got mine done on Monday, it was right down the hall from my doctors office.0

Oh, and my insurance didn't cover it, so I had to pay out of pocket, but for me it was only 123. And it was sooo worth it because I saw her smile during it.
it was priceless!

When I lived in WV my doctor had them at his office. I was so excited to get mine too & then my daughter wouldn't cooperate at all. So I didn't end up getting a picture. They tried to move her around & they had me wait for a while but still she was too stubborn. Now that she's older she still just as stubborn. :laugh:0

I'm in Pa too. There is an office in Allentown called "Womb with a View" that does 3D ultrasounds. Not sure where you are but they have other offices. Check out their website. I went to them and I love the 3D shots I got.
My ob/gyn now offers 3D ultrasound too. Its a little pricey but worth it, IMO.0 -
29 weeks tomorrow but have a c-section scheduled for May 17th so I get to have her a week early!0

I had one done during my last pregnancy, it was thru a seperate center and cost around $200, but we got a dvd, cd full of pics, and some black and white as well as color photos of our baby girl.
I am very happy we did it, money well spent! It's much more detailed than the regular ultrasounds... and my OB said it was perfectly safe to go to the "for fun" clinic to have it done even though I was a high risk pregnancy even.
Enjoy ever minute of your pregnancy, it doesn't last long! CONGRATS!!0 -
There's a place in Lancaster and one in Hanover - not sure where you are in PA. I got mine done at a place - it was $120 and it was a gender peek (at 14 weeks). TOTALLY worth it.0
