Another 30DS question - migranes.

I'm prone to migranes, and they're usually triggered by heat. Now, when I work out using the 30DS, I get migranes.
I'm on level 3, day 2. Both workouts in level 3 so far have brought me migranes.
Has anyone else felt this? Is it something I should worry about? Does anyone know what I can to do stop this happening?

Hard workouts deplete Magnesium. Low mag levels cause migraines (although, not the ONLY cause of migraines, just a big one in women). Try supplementing with Magnesium, see if it helps.0

Are you holding your breath, while working out? My face got super red last time I did the shred and I was holding my breath. Ended up with a headache over it.0

Go see your doctor immediately. That is not normal. Something physically or chemically within the body is triggering your migraines. Do you have high blood pressure? Do you eat a lot of sodium? Rush to your doctor and have it checked out.0

you seriously may not be hydrating enough before your workouts. Many times they can be brought on by dehydration....I know mine are..0 -
I've never really had an issue with my blood pressure, and I always watch my salt intake. I'll go to my doctor when I'm done studying. I have so much work to do, but until then I'll try and regulate my breathing. Maybe that can help?0

I would also recommend a visit to your dr to rule out serious medical issues. If there's no other pressing issue connected with the migraines, they may be able to give you suggestions and/or medication to help. I'd also look into those nutritional suggestions just in case you're lacking in something that could be easily added to your diet, plus make sure you're really well hydrated when you workout. I'm a migraine sufferer but mine are not brought on by exercise, mine are triggered by hormonal changes, lack of sleep, not eating or drinking enough, etc. I've never had one b/c of exercise even when I first starting doing 30 Day Shred and was completely out of shape.0

You don't have to rush to your doctor. I have had migraines my whole life, and I work with a neurologist frequently, so I can tell you for sure, that some people (like me) have migraines that are triggered by everything. Mine for example are triggered sometimes just by using weight machines. It has something to do with the way they are designed. What it could be for you is tension. Some people have migraines that are triggered when they tense up their bodies for too long, and then release. That happens to me a lot in cold weather. I will tense my ENTIRE body up (thinking that somehow it will warm me up), which is fine, but then when I release once I get inside, I feel the pain starting. You should see a neurologist for your migraines anyway, but dont panic because this particular exercise regiment is triggering them. You can just change to a different exercise.0

I suffered from intense migraines with aura that were brought on by diet (foods high in nitrates- I love salami), intense physical activity, and during my lady times. A colleague recommended I try feverfew, a medicinal herb. I have been taking one capsule daily (380mg) for over 8 months now and have been migraine free, which is amazing since I used to get them twice a month. I can now go back to spinning again without the fear of a follow-up migraine
Of course, I'd talk to your doctor first to see if it's appropriate for you.0
