Oh my god!!!!! :noway:
I can't believe that number is possible. :noway:
You must consult a doctor and a nutrtionist.
What do you guys eat? Or is his problem genetic? Is the rest of your families cholesterol so out of control?0 -
Please - It is very important that you follow closely with a physician for medical management. A number like that means your kids should be evaluated too.0

yes it runs in his family and this number does excist he is with his doc and gets his medication.
we have to see how he will cope with it. .
the fun part is that we don't eat actually really "bad "food. meat is almost out anyways.
my nieces ,both underweight have high cholesterol ,too. but not this high.0 -
I agree he definitely needs to be monitored by a doctor. Some things that have been proven to lower cholesterol:
# Flaxseed
# Fruits
# Garlic
# Kidney Beans
# Oatmeal
# Soy Foods Like Tofu
# Vegetables
# White Beans
Also WALKING is a good source of lowering bad cholesterol and raising good cholesterol. Maybe you can try making it a habit to go for a family walk every night.0 -
Try going to Sparkpeople it's probably www. Sparkpeople.com but the have different groups you can join in on with people with his problem . I go on there and joined a group called diabetics over 50 plus needs to loose 50lbs. The people in this group are all dealing with diabetes at my age and I am learning a lot from them on what they do for their diabetes. I am sure the would have a group for high cholesterol. At least check it out and see if they can help you. If you can't find it , let me know and I will look up the web site address again for you. And I will pray for him and your family0

Add avocadoes and fish to that list! Both have lots of unsaturated fats. Raise the HDL and lower the LDL!0
