Please share this with your loved ones -- everyone needs to be aware of this if you are not already part of the solution.
We think we have "bad days" when we don't get enough protein, or when we are "lazy" and skip a workout. What kind of propaganda do we see, what goals do we surround ourselves with? Vanity...money... health...career....if all those things dominate our lives, how can so many people remain unaware of the utter tragedy that exists for these kids? Invisible Children has been around for a while..... so what are your priorities? Please watch this.

Truly the best 30 minutes of my life. No joke. I have never been one to worry myself with "global" issues when I think that here at home we have enough to worry about .. but this video .. what that ONE MAN did and started is truly inspiring.
I just said on another post it is amazing to me the difference some people make in this world and all I do is worry about my weight.

Every time I start to complain about something stupid, I remind myself of things like this going on in the world.
I literally just complained, OUT LOUD "Aw man! The Perez Hilton party at SXSW this year is gonna be so fun and I have to miss it because I'll be in Vegas!" and then I almost slapped myself in the face.
We could all do a better job putting our stupid bs aside and remember there are REAL problems out there.0 -
Thanks for this. Absolutely agree, however a far wiser man than me (Stephen Fry on Twitter to be precise) has reminded me it's important to understand the whole picture.
If you watched the above, please read the below

Again, something has to be done, but sometime it can help to have a broader view before choosing your course of action.0 -
I think that Invisible children is more a voice than a charity. I also believe they deserve to get paid for what they do. I also don't have a problem with military "intervention". Things work very differently over there. You don't coax mass murderers out of hiding with cookies.
I think they have used social media to bring a very important issue to the forefront. And yes, there are millions of people that haven't even heard of Uganda, there's a lot of ignorance in this world. I would far rather see this on my facebook, than Snooki's pregnancy.
I'm tired of hearing the naysayers today saying "what about issue x and y", why don't they get attention? This issue has come to the frontlines. Hundreds of thousands of people have spent blood, sweat, tears and their own money to get it here. There was no shortage of work or passion. There are thousands of worthwhile causes out there. Because of Invisible childs work, today it's this one.
The bigger picture is now that we know about it, how are we going to fix it? Throwing money at Invisible children may not be the answer. But this opens things up for other charities and humanitarians who will be taken more seriously now due to the media storm. And for that? I'm grateful, frankly.:flowerforyou:0 -
Yeah..even with donating money...it's just not enough. Sure, it may make me feel better...but everyone is going to feel unresolved about this unless they are at the forefront helping.
Guess I mostly posted this because it hit me really hard. I am so blessed and have absolutely no reason to complain.0
